11/17/19

5-foot-10, 160-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and utilizes a lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. Displayed a feel for the barrel while routinely staying behind the baseball and using the middle of the field well. Registered an 82 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 7.53 60-yard dash, both personal bests for Farrar. He flashed pop times of 2.24 -2.31 on throws of 74 mph from the crouch with quick feet and a solid arm. Farrar continues to improve his personal numbers each time that we see him.

7/24/19

What a difference a month can make. Just under a month after we first saw Farrar, he improved in nearly every category. Offensively, he setup in a neutral, balanced stance. He was able to find a couple loud barrels during his bp and displayed gap to gap pop. A 81 mph exit velocity was recorded. Defensively, Farrar once again was impressive. This time recording a 2.16-2.21 pop time. Displayed solid defensive techniques. Would benefit even more if he could get his lower half more into his throws to second.

6/26/19

This was the first time we had seen the 5-foot-9, 155-pound catcher, and he turned in a solid showing. Offensively, Farrar starts in a neutral setup with his hands near his ear. He generates ok bat speed, evident by a 72 mph exit velocity. He does get his hands through the zone and found barrels consistently. Defensively, the rising junior displayed good footwork and soft, confident hands. A 2.37-2.40 pop time was recorded. Was really impressed with how he received pitches.
