Hall made 3 appearances at Lakepoint during the Jr. Future Games. Showed good depth and the ability to change speeds. His CB was his best pitch, which he threw in any count and at anytime.
12.30.18- Offensively, the 5-foot-6, 140-pound primary pitcher starts in a spread, neutral stance with his hands near his head. Displayed the ability to drive the ball consistently to all fields. Solid fundamental stride and swing. A 73 mph exit velocity was recorded.
Defensively, Hall showed some tentativeness in fielding the ball off the ground, but recovered nicely with a strong, accurate arm to home plate. A 64 mph positional velocity was recorded. Overall, Hall displayed solid, baseball fundamentals and is an intriguing prospect to watch.
On the mound, Hall displayed solid mechanics and arm action. His FB sat 64-65 mph with arm side run to go along with a CH at 59-60 mph. His best pitch of the day was his CB which sat 54-55 mph. It displayed sharp break and he consistently threw it over the plate for strikes.
2/24/18 Initiates swing from neutral set up with short, controlled stride staying neutral. Changes eye level by starting in crouch and becoming more upright prior to load. Weight shift is passive followed by more aggressive hip turn. Separation is solid. Releases backside well working into a firm front side and achieving good leverage. Bat is on plane early and spends considerable time in hitting zone.
On the mound, works from over the top arm slot. Lands excessively open with front knee softness. Would benefit from staying in line and driving over a firm front side. FB sat 61-63 mph. CB at 57-58 mph showed 11-5 shape with rolling action while being commanded down in the zone. There was feel for the CH at 51-52 being thrown with solid sell and fading action.
