Event Performers of 2020

With Baseball unfortunately at a stalemate in Alberta right now and all of us stuck inside looking forward to the next time we get to be on a diamond, we look back at some of the players that commanded attention and had some big days at our events from this past year.

TRENT MARIENOF / HOLY CROSS HIGH SCHOOL, SK / 2021

Report: Marien, though a product of Saskatchewan, attended our event in Edmonton this past summer.  At 5-foot-10 and 165-pounds Marien has a lean, athletic body that shows a lot of potential in many dimensions of his game.  Marien’s exit velocity of 90 mph, comes from a swing with a quiet and clean lower half, and with the intent to do damage with every pitch.  Marien also showed he moves well in the outfield with solid footwork and a good first step.

HEATH HACHKOWSKIRHP / 1B / ST. JOESPH , AB / 2022

Report: Hachkowski attended both the Lethbridge and Edmonton Showcases last summer and showed some impressive tools.  Standing at 6-foot-4 and 235-pounds Hachkowski is a big body, and this present strength shows in his swing.  Hachkowski hits the ball hard, an exit velo 91 of mph and he produces this with a short and compact stride. Off the Mound, his fastball has touched 84 with a lot of room for sharpening in his delivery, this could spike and rise rapidly.

LUKE WILSONOF / C / SIR WINSTON CHURCHILL, AB / 2022

Report: Wilson stands a strong 6 feet tall and 210 pounds. At the Calgary showcase, Wilson showed a very smooth and fluid swing with good rhythm and timing.  His exit velocity at 92 mph, Wilson continues to develop his power and hits the ball hard to all fields. Wilson also shows a strong arm in the outfield and moves athletically.  He is definitely a player to keep an eye on in the future.

NOAH SCRIMGEOURRHP / OF / WESTERN CANADA HIGH SCHOOL, AB / 2023

Report: Scrimgeour attended the Calgary Event this past summer and he certainly showed to be a player on the radar.  At 6-foot 160-pounds, Scrimgeour has a body that is very projectable with a lot of room for mass and strength gains.  On the mound showed a very quick arm, with a compact arm action.  His fastball at 79 mph, is only going to continue to climb as he matures and develops physically.  Scrimgeour will be interesting to watch going forward.
