Scouting Report
Team: Prairie Baseball Academy - Junior Varsity
PBR Events Attended: Southern Alberta Talent ID 2017
Background: Noah Wauters has grown up in Lethbridge and is attending the Prairie Baseball Academy for the 2017-18 season as a high school player. Wauters is very athletic and is somewhat raw at the moment. He has experience playing all three outfield positions, but projects as a center-fielder due to his athleticism and speed. Wauters possess good hand speed with feel and an approach at the plate, however he will need to make some minor adjustments to his swing as he can get long and steep at times.
Need to Know: Wauters attended the Southern Alberta Talent ID held in Lethbridge in late October. He ran a 7.22 sixty on a very cold day and it’s easy to see that his numbers will be better than that as e matures and when the weather is a little more forgiving. That time was still the 5th best time ran on the day and the 2nd best time ran from the class of 2019 players in attendance. From the outfield Wauters showed a clean arm with some hand speed out front. Offensively, Wauters showed bat speed and quickness in his swing, and had one of the top exit velocities at 88 mph. Look for Wauters to continue to develop into a very projectable outfield prospect as he has all the tools needed to play at the next level, he just needs a little more time to refine those tools. One to follow closely.
