2027 Kickoff Classic: Teams & Schedule Announced

NORTHPORT, AL – The Prep Baseball Alabama Kickoff Classic returns to River Run Park on February 18-20, 2027, with its largest and most competitive field to date. Entering its fifth year, the event has grown into the premier opening-week showcase in Alabama high school baseball and will once again bring together many of the state's top programs to begin the spring season.

After making its debut at River Run Park in 2026, the Kickoff Classic returns to Northport for a second consecutive year with a significant expansion. The event has grown to 20 participating teams and will now span three days, Thursday through Saturday, after previously operating as a two-day event.

The 2027 field is headlined by three defending AHSAA state champions: Hewitt-Trussville (7A), Hartselle (6A), and Faith Academy (5A). American Christian Academy and Spain Park also return to the spotlight after finishing as state runners-up in their respective classifications last spring.

The depth of the field extends well beyond those five programs. Three of the four Class 7A semifinalists and all four Class 6A semifinalists from the 2026 state playoffs are represented in this year's event. With a collection of established championship programs and perennial postseason contenders, the Kickoff Classic will provide a series of high-level matchups during the opening week of the 2027 season.

A total of 26 games are scheduled across three days at River Run Park, with competition beginning Thursday afternoon and continuing through Saturday evening.

The 2027 field features an impressive collection of programs coming off deep postseason runs in 2026, including five state finalists and 12 teams that reached the state quarterfinals or better.
