2027 SMALLTOWN SHOWDOWN

NORTHPORT, AL - One of our favorite weekends on the high school spring calendar returns on March 5-6, 2027, as the Smalltown Showdown brings many of the state's top small-school baseball programs together at River Run Park in Northport, AL.

The Smalltown Showdown has become one of the highlights of our spring schedule, providing a stage for some of Alabama's premier smaller-school programs to compete against quality opponents from across the state. The event has consistently featured competitive matchups, talented players, and programs with strong baseball traditions, making it a weekend our staff looks forward to each year.

The 2027 edition brings a new look to the field following the separation of public and private school classifications beginning this year. Traditionally featuring many of the state's top Class 1A-3A programs, the Smalltown Showdown will now bring together leading public Class 1A-3A and private Class 1A programs. The change also introduces several new programs to the event, creating fresh matchups while maintaining the level of competition that has made the Smalltown Showdown a staple of our tournament schedule.

This year's event features 13 programs competing in 18 games across two days at River Run Park. Action begins Friday afternoon and continues throughout Saturday, with games scheduled across multiple fields at the complex.

Below, we take a look at the participating programs and complete two-day schedule for the 2027 Smalltown Showdown.
