TUSCALOOSA, AL – The 2026 fall showcase schedule continued on Sunday, October 18th, as Prep Baseball Alabama traveled to Northridge High School in Tuscaloosa, AL for the Alabama Fall Games. The event brought together prospects from across the state for a full pro-style workout followed by live gameplay in front of the Prep Baseball Alabama staff.
Players in attendance participated in athletic testing using VALD Performance technology, batting practice evaluations with TrackMan, and defensive workouts with arm strength metrics recorded at each position. The event provided another opportunity for prospects to update their profiles with verified data while allowing our staff to evaluate their tools and abilities in both workout and game settings.
With just one event remaining on the 2026 fall schedule, the Alabama Fall Games provided our staff with another valuable opportunity to evaluate both familiar and emerging prospects ahead of the 2027 spring season. Below, we take a closer look at several players who stood out with scouting notes and takeaways from the event.
Loren continues to make strides in his development and has established himself as one of the top catchers in Alabama's 2028 class. The 6-foot-1, 172-pound backstop has an athletic frame with plenty of tools that stand out on both sides of the ball. He handles the barrel well and showed the ability to drive the baseball with authority to the pull-side gap, reaching a 99.0 mph exit velocity during BP. The bat carried into game action with a well-struck double. Loren also ran a 6.80-second 60-yard dash and recorded pop times of 1.93-2.04 seconds with a 76 mph catcher velocity. He's made noticeable jumps over the past year and looks primed for a big spring in 2027.
Willis continues to trend upward after a strong sophomore spring that helped put him on the radar as a talented offensive prospect. He played a key role in Mars Hill Bible's run to the Class 2A state finals and has since added noticeable strength to an already projectable frame. Now at 6-foot-2, 194 pounds, the uncommitted third baseman looks more physical and continues to show a well-connected left-handed swing with the ability to drive the baseball to all fields. He reached a 103.1 mph exit velocity during BP and has a chance to develop into a legitimate power bat as he continues to mature.
Harville remains one of our staff's favorite prospects in Alabama's 2028 class with his athleticism, hit tool, and ability to impact the game in multiple ways. The 5-foot-9, 163-pound outfielder is a quick-twitch athlete with the tools and instincts to stick in center field long-term. He hits from a slightly open stance with a hanging leg kick for timing and shows quality bat-to-ball skills with the ability to spray contact to all fields. There is some sneaky power in the bat as well, reaching a 95.1 mph exit velocity during BP. Harville ran a 6.59-second 60-yard dash and worked up to 93 mph from the outfield. A true leadoff-type hitter with gamer qualities, he remains one of the more appealing uncommitted prospects in the class.
Lewis put together the loudest round of BP at the event and showed some of the best raw power in Alabama's 2028 class. The 6-foot-4, 209-pound outfielder has an imposing frame with substantial strength already present. He works with a tight, connected turn and generates serious impact off the barrel, repeatedly hammering baseballs to the deepest parts of the yard. Lewis reached a 105.5 mph exit velocity and showed impressive athleticism for his size with a 6.88-second 60-yard dash. The uncommitted junior has legitimate middle-of-the-order power potential with plenty to like about the offensive ceiling.
Channell showed legitimate two-way upside with a strong showing on the mound and present offensive ability from the left side. The 6-foot-1, 207-pound prospect fits the power left-hander mold with a loose, whippy arm action and some crossfire in the delivery. His fastball worked at 83-85 mph and topped at 86.4 mph with carry through the zone, reaching 2266 RPM and 23.0 inches of induced vertical break. He showed the ability to spin a 75-77 mph slider to the back foot of right-handed hitters and mixed in a 78-79 mph changeup that killed spin down to 1484 RPM. At the plate, Channell showed gap-to-gap impact from the left side and reached a 93.4 mph exit velocity. The uncommitted junior has plenty to offer on both sides of the ball.
Mitchell continues to make strides offensively and has shown noticeable improvement with the bat over the past year. The 6-foot-1, 169-pound prospect has a lean, projectable frame with plenty of room to add strength. He controls the strike zone well and works with a clean, uphill path through contact, showing present impact off the barrel with more power likely to come as he fills out. Mitchell reached a 92.5 mph exit velocity and ran a 6.95-second 60-yard dash. He also offers two-way ability as a left-hander who has worked in the low-80s on the mound.
Wallace showed impressive strength in the barrel during his round of BP. The physical 6-foot-1, 222-pound first baseman works from a balanced setup and creates good barrel lag with present bat speed through the zone. His swing stays mostly level through contact and produces backspin with the ability to drive the baseball with authority. Wallace reached a 101.0 mph exit velocity and ran a 7.08-second 60-yard dash.
Worthy showed a quality two-way skill set with athleticism and plenty of room to continue developing. The 6-foot-2, 178-pound prospect has an athletic, repeatable swing that stays on plane well through contact. He worked primarily through the middle of the field during BP and reached a 96.8 mph exit velocity while also running a 6.91-second 60-yard dash. On the mound, Worthy showed a quick arm with a three-pitch mix, working the fastball at 84-86 mph and topping at 86.6 mph. He also mixed in a 73-74 mph slider and a 78-80 mph changeup.
Knight showed advanced pitchability with a quality feel for manipulating the baseball and sequencing his arsenal. The 6-foot-2, 178-pound right-hander works from a three-quarter slot and commands a sinker/slider combination that gives hitters different looks throughout an at-bat. His four-seam fastball worked at 83-84 mph and topped at 84.8 mph with spin up to 2592 RPM, while the sinker sat 82-84 mph with 16.3 inches of horizontal movement. The slider was a standout offering at 76-78 mph with spin up to 2789 RPM and over 104 Sweep+. Nothing stays straight out of the hand, and Knight showed a good understanding of how to use his movement profiles to keep hitters off balance. He also features a changeup and cutter that were not shown during this outing.
Vucovich put together a quality round of BP with consistent barrels and firm contact to the pull side. The 6-foot-2, 176-pound third baseman has a lean, athletic frame with room to continue adding strength. He works from a simple, upright setup with some rhythm in the hands and stays into the backside well throughout the swing. Loose hands and a quick, whippy barrel allow him to generate good bat speed through contact. Vucovich reached a 97.8 mph exit velocity and ran a 6.89-second 60-yard dash.
OF Owen Dye, Benjamin Russell (AL), 2027
Dye showed a simple, efficient offensive approach with present strength in the barrel during his round of BP. The 5-foot-11, 192-pound outfielder has a strong, athletic frame and works with a simple stride and minimal wasted movement throughout the swing. He stays compact to contact and uses the strength in his frame to produce firm contact. Dye reached a 98.1 mph exit velocity and ran a 6.81-second 60-yard dash.
Coggins showed an advanced offensive skill set for his age with present bat speed and an aggressive, controlled approach at the plate. The 5-foot-7, 147-pound infielder uses a toe-tap trigger for timing and works the hands directly to contact, getting on plane early with a flat path through the zone. He swings with controlled aggression and showed impressive impact for his size, reaching a 99.8 mph exit velocity during BP. Coggins also ran a 6.93-second 60-yard dash and has the type of gamer qualities that continue to stand out in his overall profile.
