AHSAA Final 4 Team Capsule: Helena Huskies (24-13)

The Helena Huskies will be hosting the Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa Patriots (26-11) in one of the 6A state semifinals with Game 1 scheduled for Friday at 4:30 with Game 2 to follow immediately after. A possible Game 3 would be held Saturday at 5:00 PM.

These two teams met last year in the state semifinals as well with Helena coming out on top on their way to their first state championship. The winner of this series will advance to the 6A state finals in Montgomery, with Game 1 taking place Thursday, May 17 at 7:00 PM at Patterson Field. Game 2 will be Friday, May 18 at 4:00 PM at Riverwalk Stadium with an "if needed" Game 3 to follow. Hazel Green and Cullman are playing in the other 6A state semifinal.

The Huskies of Helena are looking for their third state championship appearance in only four years of existence. Last year, the Huskies defeated Cullman in the 6A finals for their first state championship. In order to follow up last year's success, Helena will depend on some of the following guys.

Nick Ragsdale C / Helena, AL / 2018

Shelton State CC signee, leads the way with a .324 BA with 27 RBI's and 36 BB's.

John Stephen Heacock SS / Helena, AL / 2019

Is currently hitting .317 with 24 RBI's and 26 SB's.

Richard Fitts RHP / Helena, AL / 2018

Auburn signee, has had a fantastic year with a .324 BA and 19 RBI's to go along with a 6-3 record on the mound with 79 K's in 61 IP and an ERA of 1.58.

Landon Green rhp / Helena, AL / 2018

Alabama signee, has been dominant. Green is 10-1 with 93 K's in 63 IP with an ERA of 1.22.

This should be one of the more entertaining series in the state this weekend.
