St. Paul's 5 Bayside 3

Hayden O'Dell went the distance on the mound for the Saints.  O'Dell allowed three runs on six hits, while striking out six.  O'Dell also led the Saints at the plate, going 2 for 2 with a pair of walks.

Myles White got things started for St. Pauls' with an RBI single in the bottom of the 1st.  Bayside rallied for three runs in the top of the 3rd.  Robert Rucando's RBI single tied the game.  Del Corte's line drive to right field put the Admirals up 2-1.  Jack Knight's sacrifice fly put Bayside ahead 3-1.

In the bottom of the 3rd, O'Dell drove in Vinnie Bosio to cut the lead to 3-2.  Bayside held the lead into the 5th inning.  Freshman Josh Gunther left the game with a 3-2 lead in the 4th.  O'Dell's second RBI single tied the game at three apiece.

After a scoreless 5th, St. Paul's scored two in the bottom of the 6th.  Bosio and Will Passeau drove in runs to put the Saint's ahead for good. After a Jacob Jernigan double and a bunt single by Jacob Peavy, Bosio's ground ball to short scored Jernigan for what proved to be the game winning run.  Passeau's line drive to right scored Peavy to put the Saints up 5-3. 

O'Dell struck out the first two hitters to begin the 7th.  Rucando's third hit of the day kept the Admirals hopes alive but O'Dell got a fly out to left to clinch the win for the Saints.

Note: St. Paul's also won Game 2 of the doubleheader by a score of 10-5.
