OUTLOOK:

The Northridge Jaguars have enjoyed success over the years and the 2020 team looks to continue that trend after finishing runner up in 6A Area 7 a year ago. The Jaguars lost in the first round of the AHSAA playoffs, but head coach Hunter Gregory likes the offensive potential of this year’s team. The Jaguars will be looking for some pitchers to step up and provide quality innings on the mound. The Jaguars do return four positional starters and four pitchers from a year ago. Senior OF/RHP Crawford Lehman returns and will be looking to help lead the Jaguars. Lehman is a strong, athletic player that has a solid offensive approach with some juice in the barrel at the plate. He will also man an outfield spot as he shows solid defensive actions and arm strength. That arm strength will also be used on the mound as well. ’20 SS/2B Josh Davis is a very raw talent that has a ton of potential. The Bevill State CC commit has plus speed and has worked hard on his offensive approach and is looking for a big year in 2020. Senior C Charlie Crouse is also back behind the plate. He shows a solid set up behind the plate and does a nice job handling the pitching staff. The bat plays big time as he shows mostly gap to gap power. Junior OF/LHP Tate Robertson is the top returning arm from a year ago but he did have offseason shoulder surgery. His innings will be limited early as he builds up his pitch count for the back half of the season. Robertson also has a ton of potential as an outfielder and will be looked on in a two- way role this year. ’22 OF/INF/RHP Bodie Vail is a great athlete that has a high ceiling as a player. He is very versatile and can play both the infield and outfield. Another sophomore, INF/RHP Davis Randolph, has the makings of being a power bat as he continues to fill out and grow into his body. His defensive actions are solid enough that he can play both corner infield positions. Freshman C Brady McAbee is a young player to know for this year and in future years for the Jaguars. He shows very athletic actions behind the plate and the catch and throw skills are solid.
