OUTLOOK:

Coming off of an area championship in 2018, the Ardmore Tigers look to replicate that success again in 2019 as they welcome back 5 positional starters and 3 pitchers that saw time on the mound. Coach Andrew Smith expects his team to defend at a high level in 2019 and he will be looking for some pitchers to add depth to the pitching staff. The Tigers are in a very competitive area as they will be competing against East Limestone, Madison Academy and Madison County in 5A Area 16. 2019 C Dylan Hall will be an integral part of the 2019 Tigers. A physical presence behind the plate, Hall does a very nice job receiving pitches and has an understanding of how to manage the game. He also shows some pop at the plate and is a tireless worker. Bill Williams is a RHP/OF that will obviously give the Tigers a chance in any game he pitches. The one time Mississippi State University commit will be returning from injury in 2019 and has been sharp in the preseason. Look for Williams to once again be able to locate his upper 80’s fastball to go along with a plus slider. 2020 RHP/SS Tucker Reed is a very rangy and athletic player that defends at a high level. He will also be counted on to log some innings on the mound with a mid 80’s fastball which shows nice arm side run. Another junior, 1B/OF Hogan Whitt is another plus defender for the Tigers that can cover a lot of ground in the outfield and is a sub 7.0 60 yard dash runner. He will also be needed to provide some offense from the left side. 2021 Luke Hogan should help the Tigers at 3B and on the mound. He is a high ceiling young player that shows a lot of strength in his game and has an advanced offensive approach. The Tigers are set up once again to make a run at an area championship in 2019.
