PITCHERS
Chandler Best, LHP, McGill Toolen Catholic, 2019
Lean 5-foot-11, 170-pound left-handed pitcher with a medium, athletic frame. Long, clean arm action into high-3/4 release with quick arm speed and easy effort. Smooth rhythm, in-line direction, lands square and finishes athletic. Showed pitchability, commanding his fastball at 83-85 mph to both sides of the plate with occasional late life. Breaking ball showed 2/8 shape with inconsistent spin and depth at 69-71 mph. Also showed a feel for a quality changeup with fastball arm speed, deception and late fading action at 72-73 mph.
Turner Swistak, RHP/3B, Oak Grove, 2020
Athletic 6-foot-2, 170-pound frame with wide shoulders. Quality athlete with short arm action into high-3/4 release, quick arm speed and normal effort. Solid rhythm, level shoulders, in-line direction, and finishes athletically. Strike thrower, worked with quality tempo, pitching 81-84 mph with his fastball. Flashed ability to spin breaking ball for strike with shape and solid spin.
Landon Rascoe, RHP, Hattiesburg, 2019
Athletic 6-foot-1, 185_pound frame. Long, loose, quick arm action from a high-3/4 arm slot. Strong at balance position, working in-line and downhill with dominate front side, some effort and good finish to the plate. The baseball jumps out of his hand, sitting 88-92 mph with late life and deception to his fastball. Secondary stuff is still developing, but he flashed the ability to spin a tight breaking ball at times, with 11/5 shape and depth at 70-74 mph.
