Inaugural PBR Alabama Event is a Success!

The very first PBR Alabama event was held on June 5 at the University of Alabama- Huntsville. The Underclass Trials was open to the classes of 2020, 2021 and 2022 and there were some impressive underclassmen at the event. Landon Leake, 2021 SS/OF of Helena High School was very impressive turning in the fastest 60 yard dash (7.13) and the highest exit velocity (87 mph) at the event. He also showed smooth glove work and a nice compact swing at the plate. Skyler Hutto, 2022 SS/RHP of West Morgan High School also turned heads at the event flashing advanced glovework and footwork during infield drills and showed an advanced approach at the plate with pull side pop. On the mound he was up to 80 mph with a sharp breaking ball and feel for his changeup. Four pitchers that also impressed were 2021 RHP Cole Turner of Lawrence County, 2020 RHP Andrew Rittman of Hartselle HS, 2020 RHP Carson Granberry of Auburn High School and 2020 LHP Lawson Russell of Decatur High School. Turner was up to 81 and showed signs of an above average breaking ball. Rittman was up to 80 from a ¾ slot featuring a sharp slider and a developing change up while Granberry was also up to 80 with good downward plane from his 6’2 frame. Russell was equally impressive from the left side topping at 82 while featuring a late breaking 12/6 breaking ball.

Special thanks to the University of Alabama Huntsville for hosting our inaugural event! Thanks to coaches from UAH, University of Alabama and Middle Tennessee State University for being at the event to see the young talent on hand. Our Top Prospect Games on June 19 at Faulkner University and the Underclass Game at Hoover High School on July 10 will be loaded with talent and well scouted by college coaches.

Look for more information in the coming days from our Underclass Trials.
