Mid Mississippi Classic: Day 1 Action

Ronald Sims
Mississippi Scouting Director

JACKSON - As expected the weather in the Mississippi area the past few weeks has been exceptionally wet, making it difficult to get games in with the wet surfaces. However, the Mid Mississippi Classic was able to get underway with Thursday action at Pearl High School where Warren Central took on Calera and Pearl played Tuscaloosa County. Today we look a few prospects we where able to catch in action.

Caleb Sterling, C/RHP, Warren Central, 2019
Hinds CC signee. Medium, athletic 5-foot-11, 175-pound frame. The left-handed hitter has a athletic set-up, simple load, consistent contact, naturally worked from gap-to-gap. Defensively, possess arm strength to make strong throws to second base, quick exchanges and soft hands. Attempted several back picks to first in the game. Arm strength also translated to the mound, pitching for two inning, running his fastball into the 85-87 mph range.
