Hit: (RHH) Begins in an open stance with a quick load, then uses a small leg kick. Above average bat speed. High finish, upward rotational swing. Pull side approach.

Power: 89 mph exit velocity, average 76.57 mph. 66.86 mph bat speed average. 23.24 mph hand speed average.

Defense:  (IF) Sure hands, consistent footwork, clean exchange. Solid. Uses his glove out front.

Arm: 91 mph infield velocity. Quick arm action, high ¾ slot, consistent accuracy.

Speed: 7.43 (60-yard).

Pitching: Advanced. Up-tempo delivery, easy effort. High ¾ arm angle, lightning arm speed, very quick arm action. Athletic balance point, even shoulders, lands square.

FB: T90. 89-90 mph. (Max spin 2165;  Avg 2059). Very consistent accuracy, running action.

CB: 74-75 mph. Glove side command, tight action, 11/5 shape.

SL: (Max spin 2661; Avg 2603).

RHP Zach Stevens (2023) is a prospect that has really made strides on the mound using a lively fastball and a breaking ball that has shown high metrics in each look. Pitching in Game 2 of each series as a sophomore, Stevens was tasked with facing Wetumpka in an area championship on Thursday. The sophomore right-hander opened up working 86-88 mph with his fastball, hammering it into the inner-half against right-handed hitters. He was effectively wild with his fastball and wanted to ensure to hitters that he owned the inside part of the plate. Stevens settled in to throw 82-85 mph in the later innings with better command. Breaking ball was the equalizer and kept hitters off the fastball at 75-76 mph with spin into the 2700 rpm’s and hard 11/5 break. It was thrown for strikes consistently, and showed the ability to throw low in the zone for chase a few times. Able to elevate the fastball and spin the breaking ball in the same plane. He finished tossing 7 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 2 HBP & 7 K’s and pitched well enough to win, but was the “tough luck loser” in this outing.

Had flat simple swing plane, efficient bat speed and high finish. Barreled up some balls during the round. Opposite field approach. Smooth at the plate, the right-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 88 mph. Capable showed his live arm in the infield with position velocities up to 89 mph; had a clean exchange, smooth footwork, and soft hands. Shows one hand glove work. Consistent accuracy to the bases, used a high ¾ slot and a very quick arm action. Advanced on the mound, had a quick arm action and a high ¾ arm angle with lightning arm speed. Slow-tempo type pitcher who uses some effort. Athletic balance point. Produced a fastball that came in at 85-87 mph and topped out at 88 mph; showed cutting action and consistent control. Had a 12/6 curveball (73-74) that showed late action and consistent control. His changeup (79-80) showed control low in the zone and fading action. Wow, Stevens really made an impression on the mound and his metrics back that up. Really impressed with the quick arm action.
