7A #2 Smiths Station flexed their muscles on Day 1 of the 2019 season against a quality opponent in Enterprise in a 5 inning game. 2019 RHP Clay Weatherly showed why he is one of the top uncommitted senior pitchers in the state. He went 4 innings sitting 86-89 mph and touched  at 90 mph. He gave up a leadoff 2B to open the game and didn't allow another hit. He finished with 6 K's, allowing 1 hit with 1 HBP and 1 BB.  The Panthers were led at the plate by University of South Alabama commit Hunter Donaldson (2020, SS/2B) who was 3-3 including a 2B and an RBI. He also had a HBP in his other at bat. 2020 Carson Swilling (Samford University commit) was 2-3 on the day with a 2B and a 3B and totaled 5 RBI's. 2019 SS/2B Carter Duke was 2-2 with an RBI and got on by HBP in his other plate appearance. 2020 C Zane Faulk had a 2B, 2019 Sterling Evilsizer had two 1B's and senior Dylan Coonley added a 1B with 2 RBI's. For Enterprise, 2019 OF Lance Levine had a 2B and junior Connor Couch added a 1B. Smiths Station improves to 1-0 while Enterprise falls to 1-1 on the young season.
