South Alabama Games & Mobile Rising Stars ID: Quick Hits
July 19, 2023
DAPHNE, AL - The South Alabama Games & Mobile Rising Stars ID were held on Tuesday, July 18th at Bayside Academy Sports Complex in Daphne, AL. These events consisted of some of the top prospects from the 2024-2028 classes. These players went through a pro-style workout and took batting practice using Trackman and Blast Motion to record hitting metrics. Pitchers in the South Alabama Games were able to throw in simulated outings facing hitters during gameplay and were able to get numbers and metrics off of our Trackman unit, such as pitch velocity, spin rate, horizontal & vertical movement & much more. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing on Tuesday.
Continuing our post-event coverage for the event, we take a look back at some of the top performers from the event. Continuing over the course of the next week or so, we will release other various leaderboards then transition into releasing individual scouting reports for each player in attendance.

Teague Broadhead RHP / Bayside Academy , AL / 2024Uncommitted. 6-foot-3, 205-pounds. Tons of proportional strength to frame; solid athlete for size. Attended the Alabama All-State Games last week and was sharp during his outing, but looked like a completely different pitcher today with overpowering stuff and good feel for all of his pitches. Utilizing a delivery that gradually builds pace and one of the quickest arms from the event, the uncommitted rising senior hammered the strike zone with his fastball sitting 89-92 mph throughout his lone inning of work. The offering gets a ton of ride at the top of the zone and induced swings-and-misses consistently. Tunneling off of his fastball, the right-hander paired it with a 77-78 mph slider (2400 rpm) that is an above average offering. After seeing him in the spring, he looks to have firmed up the offering and looks like a true slider now. He showed the ability to land it in the zone early in the count, and drop it below the zone with two strikes for chase. Linebacker in football. High-level uncommitted prospect in the rising senior class in AL.

Noah Cain OF / Bayside Academy, AL / 20265-foot-9, 155-pounds. Athletic build with some compact strength in the lower-half. Enjoyed a really strong day, especially on the offensive side, with a quality showing in the workout and a 3-for-3 performance during gameplay. Coming off of a freshman campaign where he heavily contributed for one of the top teams in the Mobile area. Simple setup with efficient rhythm throughout; uses a controlled leg kick for timing. Showed the ability to change planes and uses the whole field within his approach. Hitter-ish type characteristics and has a knack for consistently finding the sweet spot. Solid athlete clocking a 7.06 60 YD and was up to 82 mph from the outfield. Good one to keep close tabs on for the next couple of years.

Brady Cole Harrison OF / RHP / Elberta, AL / 2025Uncommitted. 6-foot-0, 165-pounds. Lean & wiry frame with elite athleticism. Very strong day all-around with a quality showing during the workout and ranked near the top of most statistical categories. Still tons of room to potentially add mass; has some present twitch. Slightly-open stance works back square using a controlled toe-tap trigger; utilizes a knob-led path and turns the barrel using a strong top hand. Consistent solid contact during BP with a top EV at 89.2 mph; ran a 6.67 60 YD and was 91 mph from outfield, both of which were event-bests. Also hopped on the mound during gameplay and worked up to 84.2 mph with solid secondaries. Intriguing prospect to follow in the rising junior class in AL.

Jacob Rowell RHP / Saraland , AL / 20266-foot-5, 170-pounds. Really high ceiling with long and very projectable build with long limbs. Tons of room to add mass in the future. Strong outing on the mound mixing in all three offerings for strikes with solid metrics on both secondary pitches. Fastball operated in the low-80s for the majority of the outing and reached 85.4 mph earlier; possesses some life to the arm-side. Paired his fastball with a 71-73 mph breaking ball (2400 rpm) that showed 11-5 shape and had quality depth to the pitch; more horizontal shape when located to the arm-side. Good feel to pronate a 78-79 mph changeup (1400 rpm) that was an effective third offering; has usual arm-side fade to it. Still a young prospect but has a tons of upside and is certainly one to follow in the rising sophomore class in AL for the next couple of years.

Wyatt Williams rhp / 1B / Bayside Academy , AL / 20266-foot-3, 195-pounds. Advanced frame in terms of physicality for his age. Possesses some present strength but still room for more. Really impressive feel to pitch to go along with a quality three-pitch repertoire. Two-way prospect with big power from the right side of the plate; may have more upside on the mound. Fastball worked up to 81.6 mph in the outing with T19 in. and an average of 16 in. of IVB that allows it to play up in the zone. Possesses some feel for spin on the mound with more 12-6 shape to mid-60s breaking ball; will continue to get better as he spins it with more intent. Best secondary offering was a splitter at 68-72 mph that killed spin (950 rpm) and has tons of depth. Mixed all three pitches during the outing and punched out ⅘ hitters he faced.

Davis Woodson SS / Daphne, AL / 20285-foot-8, 135-pounds. Athletic prospect with still plenty of development to come, but has impressive skills for a player of his age right now. Wiry build and has smooth actions across the board. Impressive round of BP during the workout with consistent firm contact back up the middle and to the pull-side using a line drive approach. Balanced and athletic throughout his swing with good rhythm; stays short with swing and extends well. Equally as impressive with the glove up the middle with solid footwork and accurate throws. Feet puts him in a good position to field and attacks the baseball. Made all the routine plays during gameplay. Really solid all-around day for the middle infielder.
