Zackary Johnson C / OF / Bob Jones , AL / 2025Rankings StateRank: 10 / POS: 3
Uncommitted. 6-foot-0, 180-pounds. Lean strength to frame with room to continue to add; solid athleticism for catcher. Quickly has become one of our favorite overall hitters in the 2025 class in AL; continues to hit, hit, and hit and has done it against some of the strongest competition hitting in the middle of the order for a powerhouse 7A program. Posted a solid workout all-around on Wednesday with a quality round of BP, sub-1.90 pop times, and a 7.14 60 YD, then carried it over into gameplay where he had the biggest swing of the day for Team Alabama. In his final at-bat of the day, the right-hander was able to pull his hands in and get the barrel to an elevated, inside fastball and blasted it over the LCF wall for a ringing home run. Possesses good rhythm to his overall offensive operation and can lag the barrel with present bat speed. Intriguing power potential and is equally as talented from the crouch, but can also play outfield, as well. Good one to know with the all-important August 1st date approaching.

Christian Helmers RHP / Hewitt Trussville, AL / 2025Rankings StateRank: 17 / POS: 4
Uncommitted. 6-foot-4, 195-pounds. Long and athletic frame with plenty of room to add and more in the tank. Opened it up for Team Alabama in Game 1 of the week and although he gave up a few runs in his outing, the right-hander induced weak contact throughout and mixed an effective two-pitch mix. Plenty to like with a clean, relatively ease of operation with some pitch-ability. Operated mostly in the 86-88 mph range and bumped 89.5 mph a couple of times during the outing with his fastball; plays up in the zone and possesses some carrying life collecting numerous swings-and-misses. Mixed in an upper-70s slider that showcased good bite to the offering and registered spin rates in the 2300 rpm range; tunnels well off the fastball and is best when located to the bottom of/below the zone. Fairly low-effort release and has more in the tank.

Maximus Bruce Littleton LHP / Vestavia Hills, AL / 2025Rankings StateRank: 25 / POS: 2
Uncommitted. 6-foot-2, 205-pounds. Present proportional strength with thicker lower-half. Starter profile with mostly two-pitch mix. Struggled a bit out of the gate, but bounced back with a clean second inning during his outing. Confidence and poise jumped out in this viewing; looked to establish the fastball to both halves of the plate. Operated 85-88 mph throughout with the offering and played up a tick with some carry through the zone. Primary secondary offering was a 70-71 mph breaking ball that showcased typical 1-7 shape that he looked to use as a put-away pitch with two strikes. Didn’t show it much during the outing, but also has a splitter with killed spin (700 rpm) and could potentially be a solid third offering. Quick-paced delivery with a fast arm and provides some deception by hiding the ball. Good one to know as the all-important August 1st date approaches.

Colby Durden RHP / Hewitt Trussville , AL / 2025Rankings StateRank: 72 / POS: 12
Uncommitted. 6-foot-2, 290-pounds. Medium build with some present strength throughout his frame. Turned in the best outing in terms of in the box score, as he retired all six hitters he faced throughout his two innings while striking out the side in his first inning against a talented lineup. Possesses a long arm arm action coming out of an over-the-top arm slot, and pounded the zone using his two-pitch mix. Fastball ranged mostly 85-87 mph during the outing; reached back and grabbed a couple of 88’s and 89’s in his second inning. Primary secondary offering was a bigger 12-6 breaking ball that operated 70-72 mph with spin rates consistently in the 2300 rpm range. Slows his arm a bit when throwing the pitch, but still is an effective offering and showed the ability to land it in the strike zone. Good athleticism throughout his operation and feel for spin jumped out in this viewing.
