Unsigned Seniors

Nathan Rode and PBR Staff

When the calendar flipped to March 1, the NCAA contact period began, meaning college coaches can make in-person and off-campus recruiting contacts and evaluations. There are seniors still available with the ability to play at the next level and The Hotlist highlights a few who should get a closer look now and throughout the spring.

Camden Chalfant, RHP, Edmond Memorial, OK
Chalfant is a sturdy 6-foot-1, 175 pounds and sits in the upper 80s, and has reached the low 90s recently. He also mixes in a swing-and-miss slider that he commands to both sides of the plate.

Oliver Cush, OF, New Albany HS, OH
You’d be hard pressed to find a more well-rounded hit tool still available in Cush, a key contributor for the D1 state championship last spring. Uber physical at 6-foot-1, 195 pounds, he’s capable of 85 mph bat speed and exit velocities up to 105 mph. His defensive future isn’t certain, but he has sub-7.0 60 speed and a mid- to upper-80s arm to go with the potential impact bat.
