Scouting Report

Hilson is a 5-10 155-pound outfielder with an athletic frame and build. He is an advanced athlete that runs consistently sub 6.6 in the 60. Defensively he plays through the baseball with with fluid footwork, a normal exchange and a strong arm with carry. He has shown solid instincts defensively in the outfield. Offensively he attacks the baseball with fast bat speed and some rawness to his swing. He has shown to have advanced bat speed and a feel for his barrel. Overall a player with advanced tools, that just needs time to refine them.

Hilson became the story of 2017 summer, as he burst onto the scene as elite athlete and MLB prospect at East Coast Pro. Hilson ran a 6.4 in the 60 and threw 90+ from the outfield. Offensively he showed raw bat speed and a feel to hit. He picked up with Sticks Baseball Academy in the fall and showcase his feel to hit on a consistent basis. He will be a name highly followed in the spring.

Hilson committed to Alabama early in fall, and will have a hard decision if things play out for him as I expect in the MLB draft. He is a fun story from a local standout to a national player virtually overnight. There will be a bevy of scouts trying to decide on Hilson through out the spring. We will be tracking his progress through the winter and spring.
