June 11, 2018
The 2018 spring high school season in Arkansas generated some incredible individual moments and performances throughout all corners of the state. As the spring high school season comes to a close, Prep Baseball Report is excited to announce one player who emerged ahead of the competition at all levels in the state of Arkansas. This player has been selected not only for their outstanding statistical numbers, but also for their overall effect on their high school program.
Connor Noland a senior right-handed pitcher and third baseman from Greenwood Arkansas, led the Bulldogs to the 6A state title game, pitching shutouts in both the semifinal game and the championship game as truly one of the best season efforts in Arkansas history.
The 6-foot-3 RHP/QB decided to remove himself from the draft to pursue his career as a two sport athlete at the University of Arkansas. Noland is currently on campus with the football team preparing for his freshman season.
Noland’s all-around performance, as well as the impact he has had on Greenwood High School, has earned him the 2018 Prep Baseball Report Arkansas State Player of the Year honors.
Noland has been selected by Arkansas Scouting Director Brian Walker and the team of area scouts who covered the high school baseball season throughout the spring. The Prep Baseball Report staff has been diligently scouting and covering baseball games at baseball diamonds across the state this spring to bring parents, athletes and fans the most comprehensive coverage of amateur baseball across the United States.
