Fall Prospect League: Week One Pitching

The first week of PBR Fall League was  hosted by Henderson State University. Below you will find pitcher velocities from the 4 games.

2018 RHP Braydon Todd, H 3/4 arm slot with quick short arm action, located his fastball 81-84 mph with slight arm side run. Threw his CB 72-74 mph with late movement. He utilized the breaking ball sparingly. Mechanics were repeated delivery has some effort

2018 RHP Kaden Tollett L 3/4 arm slot fastball worked early 77-80 mph, later in the game pitched 74-77 mph, as the velocity went down arm side run increased. Tollett showed the ability to locate his fastball on both sides of the plate. He threw a Frisbee breaking ball 69-72 mph . He repeats his delivery on a consistent basis.

2018 LHP Reed Rispoli H 3/4 arm slot with a wrap in the back side. Fastball worked 70-72 mph with slight sink. He worked efficiently commanding the strike zone consistently with his fastball. Overall Rispoli is 6-foot-5 left-hander with a feel for the strike zone.

2019 LHP Lawson Tiffee H 3/4 arm slot with loose arm, tall and fall delivery with limited extension. Fastball worked 70-72 mph with slight run. Had several swings and misses on his fastball, lacked command of fastball to get feel for any secondary pitches.

2018 RHP Seth Morgan 72-74 mph with curveball with 11/5 action and early break located for strikes with 62-64 mph. He pitched from a H 3/4 slot with repeatable delivery.

2020 RHP Luke Hindman located two pitches consistently 70-71 mph fastball and a 66 mph curveball with 11/5 action and late break. Mechanically sound with consistent mechanics and rhythm , with little effort. Overall a player to follow as he throws his breaking ball with advanced arm speed.

2019 LHP Bradley Aycock fastball 67-69 mph and his curveball was 58 mph. When he got the ball out on time he commanded the strike zone. Delivery has moving parts that lacks consistency.  

2019 RHP Josh Dawson 72-74 mph pitches from a H 3/4 arm slot with an elongated arm action. He repeats his mechanics consistently. Delivery has little effort. Commanded fastball consistently on arm side. Large framed player to follow over time.

2019 RHP John Henry Maloch fastball 71 -72 mph from a 3/4 arm slot with a slight stab in the back. He repeats his delivery and rhythm, allowing him to command the strike zone.  

2019 RHP Nelson Pierce fastball was 75-77 mph  curveball was thrown 63 mph. He pitches from a H 3/4 arm slot with a quick loose arm. His curveball is thrown with fastball arm speed. Mechanically he repeats his delivery, he gets limited extension. Projectable frame and athletic build.

2019 RHP Cody Bonds pitches from a H 3/4 arm slot with a slight wrap. His fastball was 72-76 mph with late life through the strike zone. Threw his secondary pitches on a limited basis. Overall a large framed athlete with a feel for the strike zone.

2017 LHP Garrett Davis commanded his fastball 76-77 mph and complimented it with a curveball thrown 60 mph with 1/7 late action. He does a sound job repeating his mechanics with a drop and drive delivery. He commanded the strike zone working an efficient inning.

2019 RHP Nick Chaney H 3/4 arm slot with some stiffness to his arm action. His fastball was 67-71 mph. He also commanded a change up  64-66 mph and a curveball 57-58 mph with 11/5 shape and gradual action. He has a simple delivery which he repeats on a consistent basis. 

2019 LHP Timmy Stewart  his fastball worked 69-73 mph with slight arm side run. He commanded the strike zone consistently on both sides of the plate. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a short arm action.

2017 RHP Preston Pope pitched efficiently for two innings locating his fastball on both sides of the plate 77-81 with slight sink. He complimented the fastball with 61-63 mph Frisbee breaking ball with gradual break. He repeats his simple delivery on a consistent basis.

2020 RHP Cason Brigham worked from H 3/4 arm slot with a loose clean arm action. His fastball worked 69-71 mph. He also commanded a curveball thrown at 57 mph. He has a repeated delivery with a distinct balance point. Overall an advanced pitcher to watch  over the next few years.

2017 RHP Colby Atkins pitched to one hitter flashing fastball 87, 89, 92 mph. He uses a repeated delivery with a short quick arm action from a H 3/4 arm slot.
