Show Series Tournament; Central Arkansas Day 2

Day 2 of The Show Series by Mid America Tournaments was a jammed packed day with 31 games played on 6 different venues.

White Hall 4 vs 417 Dishman 2

White Hall defeated 417 Dishman today 4-2 behind a complete game effort from 2018 RHP Devon Koonce. Koonce worked his fastball 79-81, bumping up to 83. Koonce allowed 5 hits, 2 runs, and racked up 9 K's with a sharp slider that was 70-71.

2018 OF Braden Croft impressed going 1-1 with a double, a walk, and a HBP. Croft also showed off his range in CF tracking a ball down at the warning track. 

While Hall showed advanced team defense in this game as multiple players making impressive plays. White Hall 2018 C Layne Hartsfield made a nice back pick to first to get a runner out in the 3rd. For 417 Dishman, 2017 OF #74 Williams made a showed advanced arm strength with a throw from right center to throw out a tagging runner at 3rd base in the 3rd inning. Fellow 2017 OF #15 Wallace showed solid defensive instincts, and the ability to make difficult plays, in the 4th and 6th.

417 Hartley 15 vs American Baseball Club 5

417 Hartley defeated American Baseball Club by a score of 15-5 today at Joe T Robinson. 417 was led offensively by 2017 C Trey Gibson. Gibson has an athletic, crouched stance with a simple load and a quick swing. Gibson barreled 3 balls today going 4-5 with 2 doubles, a triple, and 3 RBI.

2018 OF/LHP Dominic Cavoni also hit the ball hard multiple times going 1-3 with an RBI double and 2 walks. Cavoni has a patient approach and a pretty swing from the left side with very relaxed, athletic stance, a high leg kick, and a good hand load. He made a couple loud outs with a deep fly to the warning track and a line drive right to the right fielder. Cavoni also flashed defensive skills in the 4th throwing out a runner at 3rd base from right field on a good throw. 

2019 RHP Dillon Turner started on the mound for 417 going 3 innings with 1 hit, 0 BB, 0 runs, and 5 K's. Turner worked 79-81 with his FB and had a good CU at 70-71 with down and in movement to righties.

Midwest Nationals 18 10 vs Sticks 2018

Midwest Nationals took advantage of some mistakes made by Sticks Baseball Academy 2018s to defeat the Sticks 10-1.

The Nationals scored 10 runs on 4 hits and 10 walks and 6 errors. Their pitching staff dominated the contest pitching 6 innings allowing 1 run on 6 hits while not walking a single batter and striking out 7.
