We moved forward with our early signing period, today we will move onto the players who committed to schools in Power 5 conferences outside the state of Arkansas.
This 2018 class produced 6 players that landed at Power 5 institutions.

5.23.17 All-State Game
Hill is a 6-foot-4 195-pound left-hander with a large frame and an athletic build. He is an advanced athlete with a quick arm. He pitches from an H ¾ arm slot with a short arm action with quick arm speed. He repeats his tall and fall delivery with little effort. He uses consistent rhythm, however it is a choppy with a slight pause with his arm action on the backside. He works with his shoulders uphill and finishes upright. His fastball was located down in the strike zone at 89-91 mph, his curveball showed depth and 1/7 action thrown 72-75 mph with late break. He threw his changeup 69-70 mph with erratic command. Overall Hill is an advanced athlete with a quick arm and an advanced breaking ball.

Hilson is a 5-foot-10 165-pound outfielder with an athletic frame and build. He is an advanced athlete that has shown the consistent ability to run sub 6.6 in the 60. Defensively he plays through the baseball with fluid footwork, uses a normal exchange throws from a H 3/4 arm slot with a quick loose arm action. His arm strength is advanced with carry. Offensively he has raw bat speed and has shown a feel for barrel at time. Overall an advanced athlete with two plus professional baseball tools.

Wicks is 6-foot-1 180 pound left-hander with a large frame and an athletic build. He works from a 3/4 arm slot with a quick clean arm. He has smooth rhythm and good extension. His fastball is thrown 84-86mph with arm-side run. He commands a curveball with 1/7 action thrown at 72-75 mph. His changeup was thrown 71-73 mph with arm-side run. He has continued to improve has a hitter and is turning heads as a two-way player. He starts from an athletic stance and attacks the baseball with fast bat speed. He has an advanced feel for the barrel and has shown the ability to make loud contact on a consistent basis. Overall Wicks is a solid athlete with an advanced feel to pitch and has an advanced offensive skill set.

Shoptaw is a 6-foot-1 175-pound right-hander with an athletic frame and build. He uses a short quick arm action from a ¾ arm slot. He repeats his mechanics consistently without a distinct balance point. He finishes tall to the plate. His fastball works 84-87 mph with slight run. He uses a 70-73 mph 11/5 curveball with late break as his secondary pitch. Overall Shoptaw is a solid two pitch right-hander with a feel to pitch.

Hannah is a 6-foot 150-pound left-hander with an athletic frame and build. He pitches from a H ¾ arm slot with a quick arm. His fastball works 82-85 mph with late arm-side run. He compliments his fastball with 1/7 curveball thrown 72-74 mph with solid action and depth. He repeats his simple delivery with rushed command. Overall Hannah has solid stuff, but has not shown consistent pitchability. A player to watch as he matures physically.

Hill is a 6-foot-5 210-pound right-hander with a large frame and a physical build. He pitched 88-90 mph from a H ¾ arm slot with a short arm action. He threw a change up and slider. His slider was thrown 78-79 mph with 10/4 shape and early break. The change up was thrown 75-76 mph with near fastball arm speed and slight arm side run. He uses a measured delivery that is repeated consistently. He has a distinct balance point and finish square to the plate upright. Overall Hill is very physical with a quick arm, his upside is tremendous as he continues to learn how to pitch.
