#7 Tucson High Badgers: Team Preview

As the crack of bats and cheers from the stands echo through the sun-drenched fields, the Tucson High Badgers gear up for what promises to be an exhilarating 2024 baseball season. Head Coach Mark Morris, the guiding force behind the team, instills a spirit of determination and excellence in his players, setting the stage for another great season to come for the Badgers.

Recap of the 2023 Season: The Badgers are coming off an impressive 23-9 season, showcasing their prowess in a competitive 6A South conference. Finishing with an unblemished 6-0 record in conference play, the Badgers fell just short in the 6A Quarter Finals against Queen Creek. Despite the setback, the resilience and tenacity displayed by the team fueled a sense of anticipation for the upcoming season.

Returning Talents: The Badgers are fortunate to welcome back some of their star players, each bringing a unique skill set to the diamond. Gennaro Brito, a left-handed pitcher and outfielder from the class of 2025, stood out as a future game attendee in 2023. His versatility and prowess on the mound make him a key asset for the Badgers. Juan Hernandez, a right-handed pitcher and outfielder from the class of 2025, shares the spotlight as another attendee of the 2023 future game. The 2024 season also sees the return of Jaden Leon, an infielder who adds depth and skill to the Badgers' lineup. Leon is coming off a big showing that this years Upperclass Preseason All State Games where he hit a moon shot over the left center field wall in the game play portion. 

Aspirations for 2024: With the taste of both triumphs and challenges from the previous season, the Badgers set their sights on supremacy in the south. As they chase victory, the Badgers aim not only to dominate the 6A South conference but to make a lasting impression on the Arizona high school baseball season and look to move far in the 2024 AIA playoffs come May.
