5 to Know: Shortstops

As many people know, Prep Baseball Report recently hosted its premier, PBR Future Games. The Future Games is an event that features some of the best uncommitted juniors in the country. Many players in each state work hard all year long for a chance to get invited to this select event, located at the LakePoint Sports Complex, widely considered as the best venue in the country for amateur baseball. This year, Team Arizona brought 19 players that were all looking to show off their skills to the rest of the nation, PBR scouting staff and college coaches from around the country. Coaches were able to see these players live on stream through Playsight. Team Arizona finished the weekend undefeated with several players standing out throughout competition.

The PBR Arizona scouting staff had their hands full leading up to the event. After the spring season was shutdown, there was a small window in the summer to cover as many players as possible. After holding the Top Prospect Games & covering some outside events, there were many discussions between Arizona scouting staff members on which players to bring to Georgia to compete as members of Team Arizona. There were some tough decisions to be made across the board with some great competition at certain positions in a loaded 2022 grad class in Arizona.

One of the positions that tends to be one of the strongest positions with the most athletes is the Shortstop position. There were several players in Arizona throughout our coverage that could have very well competed at the 2020 Future Games with additional roster spots. Unfortunately, we would love to bring as many players as possible but there is only so much room on a roster. Today, we will be highlighting some of the top Shortstops that were in conversation and could have very well made the trip to Georgia this year:
