Spring Scout Blog: Thunderbird vs. Estrella Foothills

Jordon Banfield
Arizona Scouting Director

The Arizona Spring Scout Blog will include notes and reports on select prospects we see throughout our spring high school coverage. If there is a game/player that needs to be covered do not hesitate to reach out and we will do our best to be there. As always, contact [email protected] or direct message @PBRArizona on Twitter with any questions about Prep Baseball Report and/or commitment information.

Sasha Sneider, 2018, LHP, Thunderbird HS
Arizona State Signee. Didn't quite have his usual stuff in this outing and appeared tired, relying heavily on the curveball with his fastball velo down a tick. The fastball sat 83-86 with his trademark arm side run that allows it to miss barrels. 1-7 curveball was between 70-72 mph and he showed the ability to throw it for a strike early in counts and bury it below the zone as a put away pitch. The combination of athleticism, pitch ability and competitiveness will certainly allow him to get outs at the highest levels of college baseball.

Seth Chick, 2020, RHP/IF, Estrella Foothills HS
Uncommitted. Big-bodied RHP shows clean arm action and ability to fill up the strike zone. Sat 78-81 on this day touching 82 mph with his fastball. Takes a short stride and gets forward quickly with his upper body in delivery. Mixed in 11-5 curveball at 65-68 mph. Comes from strong bloodlines. Excited to see more from him at the Class of 2020 Games at ASU in June.
