Uncommitted Prospect Spotlight: 2019 1B Dylan Fesperman

Jordon Banfield
Arizona Scouting Director

Throughout the year PBR will put the spotlight on a number of uncommitted prospects who show the necessary tools to play at the next level. 2019 1B Dylan Fesperman from Pinnacle HS stood out at the Preseason All-State Games for the major improvements he has make in a short time. Making hard contact with wood during BP while showing a frame that has room to add additional strength and cutting a half second off his 60 time made it an impressive performance. This is a prospect that can help someone at the college level. As always, contact [email protected] or direct message @PBRArizona on Twitter with any questions and/or commitment information.

Scouting Report

1/28/18 - 6-foot-4, 205-pound frame. Showed significant improvement in all areas from our last evaluation only a month prior. 7.45 60-yard dash was more than a half second faster and greatly improves his standing as a prospect. Hits from slightly open setup and creates a wide base from which he is able to leverage the baseball. Bat speed has improved. Lots of hard contact to centerfield during his round of BP; 86 mph exit velocity. Loads hands very deep creating a flat, on-plane bat path.  Moves comfortably around the bag, feet and hands project to 1B at the next level. Cuts himself off with glove side when throwing; 70 mph infield velo.

12/27/17 - 6-foot-4, 205 pound frame is well-proportioned and could end up being very physical. Hits from balanced setup, striding forward and loading his hands early and deep. Shows some raw power, interested to see how he handles velocity. Swing can show some length at times, which is understandable for a prospect of this physical stature; 85 mph exit velocity. Very big target at first base handles the glove well, fights playing high at times. 7.96 60-yard dash.
