Uncommitted Spotlight: '22 SS Demetrio Crisantes

Brett Thorney
State Scouting Director

We continue our coverage of uncommitted players, spotlighting them to help maximize their exposure and assist them in the recruiting process. Today, we look at 2022 SS Demetrio Crisantes (Nogales).

2022 Demetrio Crisantes (Nogales) is currently ranked No. 13 overall in the state of AZ in the 2022 class, No. 2 as a shortstop. He competed at our Preseason All-State Games back in January where his tools stood out among a solid 2022 group. His performance earned him a spot on Team Arizona at the PBR Future Games in 2020 in Georgia. Crisantes stands at 5-foot-11, 165 pounds with lean, proportional strength throughout his frame and above-average athleticism. His body is pretty projectable. His hit tool is consistent with a gap-to-gap approach with above average pull-side pop and makes, loud contact with a level swing. He led Nogales at the top of the order this spring before the season was shut down, while starting at SS. His arm stands out across the diamond with short arm action on throws at 87mph. He stays low, playing through the ball and fields it out front with sure hands. He ran a 7.27 60-yard dash at our event back in January on a slow track. He played quick and showed a high baseball IQ in our games. Crisantes' overall tools should make him a strong follow going into the summer and at the Future Games.
