In a thrilling matchup between the #11 Brophy Prep and #4 Mountain Ridge, the game lived up to its expectations, providing fans with an intense display of high school baseball. The Mountain Lions sent their ace, Arizona Commit Smith Bailey, to the mound, who delivered a stellar performance with 5 innings, 7 strikeouts, and no earned runs, showcasing a fastball that consistently hit 90-91 mph, occasionally touching 92. On the opposing side, the Brophy Broncos countered with left-handed pitcher Johnny Casale, an LMU commit, who impressed with a fastball ranging from 86-89 mph, touching 90, and a breaking ball that generated plenty of swings and misses.

Mountain Ridge took an early lead, fueled by the offensive prowess of Arizona commit Jackson Forbes, who notched two crucial doubles, contributing to the scoring. However, the resilient Broncos mounted a comeback in the top of the 7th, leveling the score and forcing the game into extra innings. The drama continued as the Broncos added four runs in the top of the 8th, creating a seemingly comfortable lead. Nevertheless, the Mountain Lions countered fiercely, loading the bases and scoring four runs in the bottom half.

The climax arrived with freshman Carter Neville stepping up to the plate. With one decisive swing, Neville delivered a walk-off winner—a line drive into shallow right field. The Mountain Lions secured a dramatic 7-6 victory over the Brophy Broncos in a game that will surely be remembered as a highlight of the season.
