Today we begin our positional analysis of each position. We will start with the outfielders. Players are listed in alphabetical order:

Zach Boh, OF/LHP, Broomfield, 2019
5-foot-6, 140 pounds. Bats and throws left. Has some extra movement to get through to be ready to hit. Starts with a bat-wag for load in an opened stance, slow leg kick closes down front side. Had a good batting around spraying line drives through both sides of the infield. Generated a 81 mph exit velo off the tee. Like his actions in the outfield. Goes back on ball well, and is smooth closing down on ball. Arm velocity was 75 mph from a high 3/4 arm slot. Ran a 7.3 60 time. Like his upside as a potential 2-hole type hitter.

Justin Friedman, OF, Highlands Ranch High School (2019)
6-foot-1, 150 pounds. Bats and throws right. Raw athletic lanky baseball player with some upside for sure as he gets strength. Improved since last event on August 7th. Stands tall at the plate. Has toe-tap back to front stride. Drops hands to ball entering hitting zone but then gets good extension through ball. Improved exit velocity from 84 to 88 mph. Shows gap to gap power potential. Arm slot is high 3/4 from outfield, and was a little longer back this time generating a 73 mph arm velo. Improved 60 time from 7.5 to 7.3. Once he grows into body more is an intriguing prospect in the 2019 class.

Zac Heisler, OF/LHP, Pine Creek, 2018
6-foot-3, 200 pounds. Bats right, throws left. Big, strong, raw athletic player who couldl move up in the 2018 rankings. Stands tall at the plate and has some good power potential. Toe-tap stride, hands load straight back, can wrap back back sometimes, but generates good power. Good extension through ball on firm front side. Could even get more of his lower back side rotated through swing. Generated a 91 mph exit velo off the tee. Needs to to work on footwork in the outfield. Throws uphill to from right to 3rd at 72 mph. Like his frame on the mound. Pretty smooth and effortless. Everything in-line towards the plate. Could generate more momentum towards plate. Looks like he stops arm a little before release which stalls arm action. Slows arm down a bit on curveball. Fastball was 74-76. Curve was 64-66. Ran a 7.07 60 time. Like his projectability.

Jake Jones, OF/RHP, Pine Creek, 2019
5-foot-10, 140 pounds. Bats and throws right. Slightly crouched, athletic stance. Very little stride. Gets good extension through ball, swing is slightly uphill. All of his weight is back in mid swing. Has pull tendencies. Exit velocity was 78 mph off a tee. In the outfield was effortless. Position came easy with solid fundamentals. Throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and was 72 mph from right field. Ran a 7.5 60 time. On the mound is square to the plate on delivery then comes a little open on landing. Lands on a bent front side, but does a good job of throwing off two feet with good back side leg drive. Needs to come through body more with arm. Has a tendency to stop arm action in front of body which could decrease potential velocity. Was 70-72 mph on the mound with fastball, and curveball was 60 mph.

Sawyer Lofstedt, OF, Monarch, 2017
5-foot-10, 160 pounds. Bats and throws right. Had a good weekend. Stands in a slight crouch. Wide base and small stride. Line drive hitter. Hands load quiet back. Loses top hand a little through hitting zone. Finishes with high extension.  Still produces line drives to both sides of field. Very good feet in outfield doing a good job going back and coming up on ball. Has long arm action throwing 78 mph from right field. Ran a 6.86 60 time. Improved a lot since last time. Intriguing prospect.

Kyle McGregor, OF/1B, Broomfield, 2018
Throws and bats right. Has a tall open narrow stance at the plate. Very little load and short stride. Uphill swing through the zone with pull side tendencies. One arm finish on extension. Produced a 83 mph exit velocity off the tee. In the outfield aggressive coming up on ball. Throws from a high 3/4 arm slot at 79 mph. Ran a 7.40 60.

Frankie Shearn, Columbine, OF, 2018
6-foot 170 pounds. Bats and throws right. Had a good weekend. At the plate stands tall with minimal load and slight leg kick. Most of his weight is on his back side at point of contact. Swing is slightly uphill with a one-handed finish. Would like to see him loosen up a bit, and create some more rhythm. Exit velo continues to improve, and was 82 mph this event off the tee up from 77. In the outfield has a ton of range. Arm velocity improving as well up to 78 mph. Last event ran a 6.7 laser timed 60 and this event came in at 6.69.
