Colorado Top Prospect Games Outfield Analysis

The Top Prospect Games took place August 4th and 5th at Historic Cherry Creek High School. 89 prospects were on hand for the two day event that included individual evaluations and games. Players from the 2020-2021 classes and some select 2022 were on hand and did not disappoint during this event.

Over the course of the next week we will break down individual performances by position at this year's Colorado Top Prospect Games. We began our look with the catching position, now we take a look at the outfield position.

Colby Shade OF / OF / Fort Collins, CO / 2020

6-foot-2, 170-pound right hand hitting outfielder who ran a 6.60 60. Simple, balanced set up at the plate. Slow load to the back side and weight fires through the zone. Exit velocity was 93 mph from a tee. Hit several balls hard to the right center gap during the live BP round. In the field he is fundamentally sound and shows excellent anticipation. Arm is long and over the top. Arm played at 86 mph.

Garrett Lippold OF / RHP / Grandview, CO / 2020

5-foot-10, 150-pound switch hitting OF/RHP who ran a 6.78 60. Balanced stance at the plate. Strides early on the pitch. Swing is slightly uphill and he shows good bat control to all fields. During game play he added a couple extra base hits putting that 6.78 speed on display. Exit velocity was 88 mph. In the field he attacks the ball and cuts down the angle. Arm is over the top and accurate. Arm plays at 78 mph.

Breckin Davis OF / 2B / Lewis Palmer , CO / 2021

6-foot-0, 165-pound switch hitting OF/2B who ran a 7.28 60. From the right side the swing is smooth and repeatable. Hands have good whip through the zone and good extension out front. Exit velocity was 79 mph. Wide stance from the left side with a big lift and place stride. Sinks on the back side and swing path is uphill. Exit velocity was 78 mph. Defensively he has athletic actions in the field. From the outfield he delivered an 82 mph ball with accuracy. Also showcased as a MIF who covers good ground up the middle, quick glove to hand transfer and arm played at 75 mph.

Tyson Pallatt OF / C / Lakewood high school, CO / 2021

5-foot-10, 165-pound right hand hitting OF/C who ran a 7.00 60. At the plate he hits from a balanced stance with a slow load on the pitch. Good lower leg drive on the swing. Hands come through the zone and create good whip. Exit velocity was 86 mph. In the field he showed good athletic actions and instincts. Uses his speed to cut balls down in the gap. Arm was long and over the top and played at 85 mph.

Billy Wall LHP / OF / Ralston Valley, CO / 2020

6-foot-1, 190-pound left hand hitting OF/LHP who ran a 7.45 60. Left-handed hitter, starts in a balanced stance, short stride during load. Attacks the ball from a short path with above-average bat speed. Recorded and 83 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively, fluid footwork, clean exchange. Long arm action from high ¾ slot, 75 mph arm from the outfield. Smooth delivery on the mound, lands in-line on the delivery and arm is from a high ¾ slot. Good drive and extension out front on the release. Fastball was 76-78 mph with arm side run. Curveball sat 65-67 mph with tight spin and 2/7 break.

Kit Wigington OF / 1B / Pine Creek, CO / 2020

6-foot-0, 180-pound left hand hitting OF/1B who ran a 6.90 60. Early stride and load on the pitch. Weight and hands explode through the zone. Swing path up uphill and ball has good carry. Exit velocity was 92 mph and he hit several balls deep into both gaps during the live round. Defensively he is fundamentally sound and showed good anticipation during game play. Arm is over the top and accurate. Arm played at 73 mph.

Travis Attardo OF / 2B / Douglas County High School, CO / 2020

6-foot-4, 160-pound right hand hitting OF/2B who ran a 7.50 60. Wide open stance at the plate with a high leg kick to come square. Hands drop slightly on the swing and path is uphill. Exit velocity was 78 mph. Defensively he moves well left and right. Attacks the ball in and delivers an accurate 55 mph throw from the outfield.

Max Fairchild OF / LHP / Thunderridge, CO / 2020

5-foot-9, 160-pound left hand hitting OF/LHP who ran a 7.20 60. Simple set up at the plate, balanced with a lift and place stride. Hands and weight come through as one with good extension out front. Exit velocity was 87 mph. Defensively he showed good athletic actions. Long arm from a high ¾ slot. Arm played at 78 mph. On the the motion is repeatable. Drives hard to the plate from balance and gets good extension over the front half. Fastball is from a high ¾ slot and sat 77 mph. Fairchild showed near fastball arm speed on a 66-67 mph curve with sweeping break and he showcased a 70-72 mph change.

Jack Harris OF / RHP / Lewis Palmer, CO / 2020

6-foor-2, 170-pound right hand hitting OF/RHP who ran a 7.50 60. Stand open at the plate with a long stride to come square. Hands and weight fire through the zone and swing path is uphill. Good extension out front at contact, exit velocity was 81 mph. Defensively he uses long legs to glide to the ball. Glove to hand transfer is quick and arm is over the top. Arm played at 74 mph. Repeatable smooth motion on the mound. From balance he sins and drives to the plate. Landing is short out front and he gets good extension over the front side. Fastball was 76 mph with good location away in the zone. He added a 65-67 mph curve with sharp 11/5 break.

Nolan McCracken OF / RHP / Windsor, CO / 2021

6-foot-1, 180-pound right hand hitting OF/RHP who ran a 7.81 60. Balanced at the plate with a short stride on the pitch. Swing is level through the zone with good extension at contact. Ball carries well in the gaps. Exit velocity was 84 mph. In the outfield he showed good actions and a long arm. Arm velocity was 83 mph. During the infield round he showed good instinct and actions at 3B. Quick glove to hand transfer and arm played at 77 mph. On the mound, the motion is clean and simple. Good balance and he drives hard to the plate. Arm is over the top and the fastball sat 75-78 mph with command. He added a 61-64 mph curve with sweeping 11/5 break.

Michel Biyoghe Obame OF / 3B / Cherry Creek, CO / 2022

5-foot-10, 170-pound right hand hitting OF/3B who ran a 7.20 60. Balanced stance with a high leg kick on the pitch. Quick hands and strong weight transfer on the swing. Swing path is uphill and ball has good carry to the gaps. Exit velocity was 85 mph. Defensively he shows good actions. Attacks the ball and throws from a high 2/4 arm slot. Ball has good carry and was 68 mph from right field.

Levi Tucker RHP / OF / Brighton , CO / 2021

5-foot-11, 170-pound switch hitting OF/RHP who ran a 7.32 60. Balanced setup at the plate with a lift and place stride. Weight rotates through the zone. Swing path is level and he showed control to all fields. Exit velocity was 83 mph. Defensively he moves well in the gap. Attacks the ball and transfers it quickly. Arm is over the top and plays at 78 mph. On the mound he is max effort to the plate. Drives hard from balance with a slight fall off to the right side. Arm slot is high ¾ and fast ball lived around 82 mph. His out pitch was a 68-70 mph splitter that racked up three K’s in two innings of work. He also showcased a 69-72 mph curve with sweeping 11/5 break.

Jackson Woolwine OF / 2B / Boulder High, CO / 2021

5-foot-9, 130-pound right hand hitting OF/2B who ran a 7.35 60. At the plate he hits from a balanced stance with a slow load and double toe tap on the pitch. Good lower leg drive on the swing. Hands come through the zone on an uphill path. Exit velocity was 82 mph. In the field he showed good athletic actions and instincts. Arm is long over the top with a good glove transfer. Arm was accurate and played at 64 mph.

Cameron Yuran OF / RHP / Cherry creek , CO / 2021

6-foot-0, 165-pound left hand hitting OF/RHP who ran a 7.52 60. Balanced at the plate with a long slow load to the back side. Coils up and then comes through the zone. Swing path is uphill. Good extension out front. Exit velocity was 80 mph. In the field he moves well on the ball in the gap. Comes through the baseball and delivers from an over the top slot. Arm played at 80 mph. Deliberate motion on the mound. High leg kick to get balanced and falls to the plate. Lands in-line and arm is over the top. Fastball was 72 mph with location away in the zone. He added a 65-66 mph curve with sweeping 11/5 break.
