Neil Devlin From the Colorado Dugout: Conversation with Gavin Schmeh and Jordan Sandoval of Brighton HS

It’s busy in Brighton.

The northeast suburb of Denver, named for Brighton Beach in New York, is experiencing another rash of growth. Its original high school, which dates back to the late 19th century, is bursting with enrollment and has gone to a four-day schedule. The Bulldogs baseball program has had double-victory seasons 10 times over the past 11 years. The city’s people are eagerly seeking their first prep state title with a ball since capturing the 1954 Class A championship in boys basketball.

And players such as Jordan Sandoval and Gavin Schmeh would like nothing better than to be a major part of it.

Sandoval and Schmeh may sound like a law firm, but the only law they wish to lay down is better baseball for Brighton.

Prep Baseball Report-Colorado recently caught up with them at the sold out Underclass Invitational for the Classes of 2021 and 2022 at the Slammers facility in Centennial.
