Fort Collins, CO - Rocky Mountain (5-3) defeated Broomfield (3-5) 14-2.

Just around this time of year the Rocky Mountain Lobos start heating up. Coming back from the traditionally tough Horizon/Brophy National Invitational which is played in Chandler, AZ, the Lobos look like they are starting to make their playoff push. In their first two games back from Chandler, the Lobos made short work of Pomona on 4/1/15 and Loveland on 4/4/15 having consecutive 10-0 victories over both programs. Yesterday against Broomfield was not much different, and you knew it was going to be a long day for the Eagles when No. 9 2015 Cole Anderson lead-off the game with a homerun. Next came 2015 T.J. Solverud with a 3-run bomb in the third. No. 68 2015 Garrett Hammer followed in the 4th with a grand slam, then In the bottom of the 5th 2015 Chad Bell, who was 2-3 with 2 runs and 7 RBI had a walk-off Grand Slam to win the game 14-2 over the Eagles. Hammer and Bell drove in 11 of the Lobos 14 runs.  No. 31 2016 Austin Alarid got the victory going the distance giving up 2 Runs on 5 hits striking out 10. Over the last three games, the Lobos have outscored their opponents 34 to 1. Up next for the Lobos could be their first big test in Colorado playing away at undefeated Monarch on Thursday 4/9. Broomfield will try to regroup at home on Thursday 4/9 against another tough 5A opponent Horizon.
