PUEBLO -- The South-Central League baseball race has been extended to the final day.

Pueblo West High School defeated East 2-1 on Tuesday at Andenucio Field and South nipped Central 1-0 on a combined no-hitter in the nightcap.

That leaves Pueblo West, East and South tied at 7-2 in the league standings with one game to play.

The Cyclones (15-3) play Centennial on Saturday in their league finale, while South (13-4) and East (13-5) tangle, also on Saturday.

Due to tiebreakers, the South-East game will be for the S-CL title. Pueblo West can't win the league crown, losing tiebreakers to both South and East should the teams tie at the end of the regular season.

While the league remains cloudy, the biggest storyline from Tuesday was the health of East senior pitcher Sonny Arellano, who has signed to play football and baseball at Colorado State University-Pueblo.

The 2014 S-CL most valuable player left Tuesday's game in the third inning holding his elbow after uncorking a pitch. His status is uncertain. Arellano is the top pitcher in the league with an 8-0 record and is fifth in hitting with a .470 average.

Pueblo West received a 12-strokeout performance from senior Tyler Evans to subdue the Eagles.

The Cyclones scratched across two unearned runs in the second inning.

East threatened in the sixth when it scored its only run. Jeremiah Arellano legged out an infield hit that drove in Danny Martin. But Andrew Vigil grounded out with runners at second and third.

Evans set down the Eagles in order in the seventh to preserve the win.

"That was the old me," said Evans, who improved to 5-0 with a five-hitter, walking one and hitting a batter. "Everything felt great today. I came out aggressive hitting my spots."

South won a pitcher's dual as junior Jacob Bedford and senior Jared Baros combined to no-hit the Wildcats. Bedford went six innings to improve to 5-0, while Baros cleaned up for a save in the seventh.
