SUPER 60 BREAKDOWN: DYLAN CAREY

On Sunday, Feb. 6, Prep Baseball Report hosted the 20th edition of its prestigious, flagship event: the Super 60 Pro Showcase. Since the event’s inception in 2003, more than 300 players have been selected in the MLB Draft, including 25 first-round picks and 26 second-rounders.

We continue our post-event coverage here in Colorado with a breakdown on shortstop Dylan Carey (Ponderosa HS/Nebraska commit).
Lean build with long levers. Strength in his game and he’s added 10-pounds in the off-season, now 6-foot-3, 195-pounds. Quiet demeanor with strong intentional work habits. Displays confidence! Impressive round of batting practice at the Super 60.
As a right-handed hitter, it’s a slightly open stance, strides to the inside of his front foot and creates a firm front side. Stays stacked with separation on easy load. Hands remain high with minimal wasted movement.  Hands create a steep, downward path with whip. Bat path is consistent through the extended hitting zone.
