2024 Scout Day: Swanson Baseball - Quick Hits

  • Gavin Bennett, 2026- A right-handed pitcher, arm action works with easy effort, loose and free. Great extension out front, with a ton left in his arm. The fastball was up to 80 mph, mixed in a harder slurve at 70 mph. Big future.
  • Jonathan Crowley- A right-handed hitter, whip and life to the bat, exit velocity at 96 mph, plus arm from the outfield at 83 mph. Footwork is advanced, feet look to be quick and athletic, shows plus strength.
  • Logan Fesh, 2026- A left-handed hitter, two-way player, showed really well on both sides of the field. The swing has life to it, level to up path, a gap to gap approach. Threw an easy 84 mph from the outfield and mixed all 3 pitches off the bump. The fastball reached 79 mph.
  • Luca Stavrevski, 2026- A left-handed pitcher, working from the set position, lift is athletic, delivery is fluid down the mound. The arm action is loose and clean, the fastball was up to 84 mph. Mixed both secondary pitches, with a slider at 74 mph. Great tempo and pace to everything.
  • Jack Swanson, 2027- A left-handed hitter, swing is super smooth, line drives to all fields, with an advanced approach. Defensively,  plays up the middle, glove is soft, works from ground up, moves well to both sides with ease. Worked out from behind the plate, threw an easy 77 mph down to 2nd, athletic behind the dish.
  • Ty Nogiec, 2026- A left-handed hitter, strong compact swing, lower half under control, middle to pull side approach. Brings a ton of value being able to catch and play 3rd base.
  • Matthew Chirumbolo, 2025- A right-handed pitcher, fastball up to 83 mph, arm side run, located in the bottom part of the zone.  Mixed in a breaking ball at 69 mph, thrown for strikes, depth and tilt to it. Good looking arm.
  • Matteo Modifica, 2026- A left-handed hitter, shows plus pop from the middle to pull side, had an exit velocity of 91 mph, physical frame, with projection.
  • Riley Gordan, 2024- A right-handed pitcher, loose, whippy arm action. The fastball was up 83 mph, with arm side run and sink. Mixed a slider at 73 mph, showing depth and late bite to it. Raw, with tons of projection.
  • Luke Prozzo, 2027- A right-handed hitter, showed power potential for a 2027. The swing is smooth, level to up path, creating backspin to the baseball. Took 2 good rounds of batting practice, had an exit velocity of 91 mph.
  • Preston Cantele, 2026- A left-handed hitter, balanced, advanced approach, swing is flat through the zone. Line drives to the middle of the field. Showed feel and the ability to really catch, moves well behind the plate.
  • Toby Lavender, 2024- A right-handed hitter, a twitchy athlete, runs, hits and throws. Can play both the infield and outfield equally well. Offensively, the swing is compact and crisp, had an exit velocity of 90 mph. A 2024, who is still looking for a home.
