New England Insider: Uncommitted Underclass Spotlight - Casey Brown

Scouting Report:
At 6-foot-6, 235 pounds the frame is very large, the lower half is put together well. At this size showed good athleticism. I thought he showed very well at this event. The delivery is very simple hands are set right at the waist, leg raise is clean and smooth. Worked only out of the stretch. Speeding up the motion may get the arm to accelerate slightly more. The arm slot is ¾ to high-¾, the arm is long and pretty loose on the backside. The direction is good, the frontside could stay on it longer, pulls off at the finish a little. The fastball was 81-84, with some life to the arm-side. The breaking ball shows good spin and has some tilt to it, was thrown at 69-70, which makes me think the fastball is going to jump at some point. Showed solid feel with change up, good depth, used his entire body to sell this pitch, was at 72-74. Times to the plate were 1.51. The ceiling and projection is very high, definite follow for me.
