New England Insider: Uncommitted Underclass Spotlight - Ryan Sheehan, RHP/OF
Name: Ryan Sheehan
Position: RHP/OF
Height/Weight: 6-foot-4, 175 pounds
School: Southington
Ranked: 22nd in 2017 class
Scouting Report: Big time projection on the mound for this young man High simple waist high leg lift and a long arm action on the back side. The frame is great at 6-foot-4, 175-pounds, with plenty of room to fill out. The fastball has life and action to it at 82.The breaking pitch is plus, action and tilt, sitting at 73. I didn't see much of a changeup but the path works for him to add that pitch. High level guy on the mound. 1.36 to the plate out of the stretch as well. As an outfielder, he threw 83 from right field with strength and carry to the ball. Made a couple nice plays out there during the game as he showed feel for getting off the ball. The swing is long as he is very lanky, he hits from a straight up and down stance and the bat path needs flattening. Tee exit velocity of 79.
