New England Insider: Top Uncommitted Class of 2018 Corner Infielders
Liam Sears 3B / SS / Cathedral, MA / 2018Rankings StateRank: 135 / POS: 12
Scouting Report: 6-foot-1, 190-pound right-handed hitting third baseman. Much improved player as he matures through his high school years. The glove is solid, he plays a reliable third base and he can more all the throws. Gets off the ball well and continues to work on his defense. Threw 74 across the diamond with accuracy. Ran a 4.65 on his dig to first base at the event. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 86 mph. The hands are strong, the path is long and flat to the ball. Showed the ability to hammer the ball the other way, and stay in his legs. Sets up with his feet wide, high back elbow and relaxed hands. The bottom half stay under control and he finished the swing through the ball. Solid player, under the radar because I think he is going to hit. Interest From: Academic Schools in New England |
