New England Insider: Top Uncommitted Class of 2018 Left-Handed Pitchers

Dominic Niman LHP / OF / Conard, CT / 2018

Scouting Report: The shoulders are sloped, has room to fill out, is a well proportioned athlete. A left-handed pitcher, arm works from a ¾ to high ¾ slot, fastball bores in hard to zone, located it well to both sides of the plate. The fastball was clocked at 80-81 mph, has more in there, been better at times earlier in the year. The baseball comes out of his hand with easy effort, jumps when it gets to the plate. Direction with lower half is good, front arm wants to pull at times. The breaking ball was clocked at 68-72 mph, more of a small slider, was thrown for strikes. Showed the ability to throw the changeup for strikes, with fade and action to the arm side.  The frame is large and super strong, look for the velocity to jump begin after rest and proper arm conditioning leading up to the high school season.  Someone is going to get a big time arm.
