New England Insider: Top Uncommitted Class of 2018 Middle Infielders

Jackson Dobek RHP / SS / Bridgton Academy, MA / 2018

Scouting Report: 5-foot-11, 175-pound right-handed hitting shortstop and pitcher. Had a great day at the event. Defensively, showed very at the event, making all the plays in the game. Threw 82 mph across the diamond. The glove is reliable, and the hands are soft. The prep steps to and through the ball need to be cleaned up to aid the fielding and the throwing. Ran a 7.0 sixty at the event. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 83 mph. Swung the bat extremely well in the game. 3 hits on the day. Sets up with his feet wide, picks up the front foot and puts it down as the ball approaches. The path is clean top contact, and he stays on the ball. In the game, the hands work very well at the plate. On the mound, clean plus ¾ arm slot. The fastball touched 82 mph with arm side action to it. The spin pitch is 67-69 mph, shape of the pitch is very good. The changeup is a work in progress. The delivery is athletic, uses a pump over the head in the windup. The tempo is quick, athletic lift and go. Pitches off the top of the rubber. Threw strikes and competed well.
