Scouting Report

7/06/20

Physical: Strong and physical 6-foot-1, 195-pound build with advanced feel for his body. 7.16 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH. Tall balanced stance with the hands showing rhythm at the shoulder upon setup. Utilized a controlled toe-tap stride with advanced rhythm throughout the swing as he initiated a slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone. Generated plenty of lift through contact with high level barrel speed at impact. The hands jolted into the zone behind an athletic and twitchy lower half which created solid hip shoulder separation in the box. Showcased a strong pull-side approach with ability to stay on the ball with natural backspin to the middle of the field. Recorded a standout 98 mph bat-exit velocity per Trackman Baseball and a top distance of 356 feet during batting practice.

Defensively: The primary outfielder featured a low center of gravity with quality instincts on balls hit in the air. Arrived to the ball on time with regularity and kept the glove down on the approach fielding the ball off of the left side of his body. The arm played through a high ¾ slot with length in the arm swing. OF - 86 mph

Pitching: RHP - Balanced delivery with a moderate tempo, leg lift is controlled and gets downhill with impressive straight line drive, glove hand side drives into the chest whipping a power high ¾ arm into the slot. The fastball worked with high spin into the zone at 85-87 T88 mph and appeared quicker to hitters at the plate. Mixed in a solid 72-74 mph CB with 11/5 shape and late depth and dropped in a different-shaped 72-73 mph SL with 2132 spin and late horizontal bite. The slider played primarily as the outpich to RHH and the righty countered with feel for a fourth offering; a 75-76 mph CH with deception.
