Day one of gameplay at the 2020 Junio Future Games kicked-off and the 14U Florida squad got off to a scorching hot start to begin pool play defeating Missouri 8-0 in 5 innings and Georgia 10-3.
Ethan Burkhardt earned the start in game 1 and worked efficiently, attacking the zone and getting ahead in counts. He went 3.1 in 0 R 1 H 1 BB 1 K.
Ryan Spitzer came in relief and finished the game out for Team Florida, picking up where Burkhardt left off going: 1.2 in 0 R 1 H 1 BB 2 K to preserve the shut out. Offensively, Carlos Morales led the way with a 2-2 day including an RBI double that was tattooed down the LF line. Noah Hayse has also added a 2-run double off the LF wall and Mason Barela added a double of his own.
Team Florida faced Georgia in the back end of a double header and came away with a 10-3 win scoring 6 in the top of the 7th to put the game away. Blaine Rowland started on the bump and pumped strikes throughout his outing as he lasted 3 innings, only giving up 1 hit and 1 walk.
