Florida Christian Dominant in First Round of Districts

Monday saw a District Playoff matchup in South Florida between Florida Christian and Ransom Everglades.

Getting the start for Florida Christian was right-hander Michael Say. Say was very impressive in 4.2 innings off work. Say struck out twelve with no runs allowed while touching 91 mph with his fastball.

Florida Christian scored early and often in this one including a six run first inning. Jonathan Gonzalez RBI single, Martin Gomez RBI double, Giancarlo Chantres two RBI single, Adrian Vidal RBI single, and Andres Balart RBI double made it 6-0 after one.

The Patriots added to their lead in the third. An Alejandro Sanchez RBI single would make it 7-0. Sanchez would steal two bases and score on a wild pitch and make it 8-0 after three.

Ransom Everglades was able to get on the scoreboard in the sixth, but Florida Christian answered back with three of their own. RBI singles from Justin Brigman and Ryan Campo would make it 11-1.

Florida Christian advances in Districts and will take on Gulliver Prep next.
