Illinois adds 13 new prospects to the 2016 Overall Rankings

The Overall 2016 rankings were updated this week and we take a look at how Illinois faired in the latest update.

The Class of 2016 is very strong class in many of the PBR states. Illinois is a big part of that, adding 13 more prospects to the overall ranks totaling 24 of the top 100 players hailing from Illinois. Three of the top ten prospects are Illinois products which include RHP Drake Fellows (Joliet Cathoic), SS Tyler Fitzgerald (Rochester) and SS Nick Derr (Geneva).

After moving to No. 1 in Illinois, Drake Fellows moved up five spots from No. 10 to No. 5 in the overalls making him the top riser in Illinois.

Of the 13 new Illinois additions to the rankings the highest newcomer is OF Andrew Dyke (Brother Rice) at No. 35, followed closely by C Cooper Johnson (Carmel) at No. 37. Rounding out the rest of the newcomers includes SS Matt Burch (Warren), C Alfred Lewis Jr. (Mount Carmel), C Danny Oriente (Downers Grove South), SS Mike Massey (Brother Rice), OF/LHP Joe Santoro (Carmel), SS Josh Shaw (Morgan Park), C Cal Elvers (Sacred Heart Griffin), RHP Ryan Hodgett (St. Francis), C Bryce Gray (Homewood Flossmoor) and LHP Cole Miller (Timothy Christian).
