2022 Super 60 Breakout Candidates

Nathan Rode and PBR Staff

Sunday, Feb. 6, marks the 20th annual Super 60 and since its inception, many players have put their names on the national radar with standout performances. As the event has grown, fewer attendees are flying under the radar, but that doesn’t mean someone can’t raise their draft stock with a good day. Below are some players who state directors are betting on doing so.

Brooks Brannon, C, Randleman HS, NC
A North Carolina recruit, Brannon is a physical backstop whose bat and arm strength stood out at 2021 ProCase in North Carolina. His loose, strong hands generate a ton of bat speed and he has a mature approach with the ability to consistently get the ball on the barrel.

Ben Bybee, RHP, Blue Valley Southwest HS, KS
After nearly two years off the mound, the 6-foot-6, 225-pound Bybee made his return in a couple short, controlled fall outings. He showed an upper-80s to low-90s fastball for consistent strikes and a slider with consistent shape and late depth. The Super 60 will be the first look for many at the right-hander tuned up and at full speed.
