January 5, 2018
PBR Iowa strives to be the most comprehensive source of player information across the state. The Prep Baseball Report is the No. 1 resource for high school baseball in each state we cover through our variety of events, boots-on-the-ground scouting staff, daily coverage, and multimedia platforms. Our multimedia platforms and events work in tandem, ultimately creating the most powerful source of high school baseball promotion in each state. While other organizations take a national approach, our goal is to become the authoritative voice on the ground level of each state.

PBR: Why did you choose the University of Iowa?
IRVINE: I chose the University of Iowa because of the relationships I developed with the coaches as well as growing up being a huge Hawkeye fan.
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
IRVINE: I visited USC Upstate, Iowa Western and Kirkwood.
PBR: Where did they first see you? How did your relationship develop with the coaching staff?
IRVINE: The state tournament; our relationship continued to progress over the course of the fall.
PBR: What role do you expect to play your first year on campus?
IRVINE: I expect to play whatever role is needed by the team and coaches.
PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?
IRVINE: My dad has had the biggest impact on me. He has always been there to prove the importance of the little things and is always willing to help me with whatever is needed.
PBR: What have you worked on/improved since last year?
IRVINE: I have worked on improving strength and increasing velocity as well as maintaining mechanics and locating pitches.
PBR: Who is the best player that you have played against or with?
IRVINE: Very hard to narrow down to one but Jake Morrison is one of the toughest outs to get and you always want him swinging the bat for your team.
PBR: What are your thoughts on the recruiting process? Any advice for other players who have the desire to play college baseball.
IRVINE: I think it is a great experience that is challenging but rewarding. I would say to always leave it all out on the field because someone is always watching.
