PBR: Why did you choose Parkland CC?
SHAHIDI: Parkland has a powerhouse program, with great coaches, and excellent facilities.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?
SHAHIDI: Iowa Lakes, DMACC, & Kirkwood.

PBR: Where did they first see you? How did your relationship develop with the coaching staff?
SHAHIDI: They saw me at the Kernels tournament in Cedar Rapids and I visited and felt at home touring with them.

PBR: What role do you expect to play your first year on campus?
SHAHIDI: 2nd baseman.

PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?
SHAHIDI: No doubt my brothers Tavan and Toran. I’ve been looking up to them since I started playing, wouldn’t be where I am without them.

PBR: What have you worked on/improved since last year?
SHAHIDI: I’ve been working hard to improve my speed and getting all around stronger.

PBR: Who is the best player that you have played against or with?
SHAHIDI: Toss-up between Harrison Cook and Nic McCay; both studs with huge futures.

PBR: What are your thoughts on the recruiting process? Any advice for other players who have the desire to play college baseball.
SHAHIDI: The recruiting process is time consuming and stressful at times but I had a lot of help along the way. My advice to others is to be proactive with coaches, if you’re interested in a school don’t wait for them to contact you.
