PBR:  Why did you choose the college you did?
BRAUCH: I chose to commit to Valpo because it is the perfect fit for me on and off the field.

PBR:  What other schools were you considering?
BRAUCH: I had been holding an offer from South Dakota State University, and had interest from Bucknell, and Iowa Western CC.

PBR:  Where did they first see you? How did your relationship develop with the coaching staff?
BRAUCH: I was first seen by Valpo at a Prep Baseball National event in Indiana.  My relationship with the coaching staff has grown stronger and stronger since.

PBR: What role do you expect to play your first year on campus?
BRAUCH: When I get on campus I am expecting to compete, and work for a spot from day one.

PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?
BRAUCH: My dad has had the biggest impact on my baseball career.

PBR: What have you worked on/improved since last year?
BRAUCH: Over the past year I have worked on gaining strength and speed by spending time in the weight room.  I am also constantly working on improving my hitting, and fielding skills.

PBR: Who is the toughest player that you have faced in Iowa?
BRAUCH: The toughest player that I have competed against in the state of Iowa is Calvin Harris.

PBR:  What are your thoughts on the recruiting process? Any advice for future players in your position.
BRAUCH: The recruiting process was very exciting, but was definitely a lot tougher than I expected heading into it.  My best advice for others who will eventually go through this is to make sure you choose the college of your choice for the right reasons, and to not rush through it.
